Sport PEI Annual Sport Awards

Each year, Sport PEI celebrates the remarkable achievements of athletes, coaches, and sport leaders from across Prince Edward Island through the Sport PEI Annual Sport Awards. These prestigious awards recognize the dedication, success, and athletic prowess of individuals who significantly contribute to the sporting community in PEI. The awards ceremony highlights various categories, including the coveted President’s Award, which honors outstanding contributions to PEI sports.

Callum McEwan & Alyssa Chapman Received Sport PEI PCE Award

 

 

We are proud to recognize Callum McEwan and Alyssa Chapman, our esteemed athletes from Special Olympics PEI, who have been honored with the PCE Award by Sport PEI for their outstanding achievements in figure skating at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games held from February 27 to March 2, 2024.
 
 
The PCE Award is presented annually to athletes who achieve remarkable success at national multi-sport events, recognizing their hard work and contribution to their sports. These accolades were formally recognized at the 51st Annual Sport PEI Amateur Sport Awards on December 19, 2024, at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown.

Elizabeth MacKay Receives Prestigious Sport PEI President's Award

 

 

We are thrilled to announce that Elizabeth MacKay, our esteemed Technical Lead & Skating Programs Chair, has been honored with the 2024 President's Award by Sport PEI. This accolade is presented annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to sport in Prince Edward Island.

Elizabeth's dedication to the sport of figure skating spans over six decades, beginning her journey as an athlete and subsequently serving in various key roles including coach, board member, and committee chair for both provincial and national skating organizations. Her extensive experience also includes roles as a manager and official at the Canada Games and her involvement with the Special Olympics.

The award will be presented during the 51st Annual Sport PEI Amateur Sport Awards, set to take place on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown. The ceremony begins at 4:00 PM, followed by a reception from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
