Coaching Jobs:
Sherwood Parkdale Skating Club is looking to add enthusiastic members to our Coaching Team for the 2023-2024 Season. Do you love working with children? Are you NCCP trained or certified? Our growing club skates out of Cody Banks Arena in Charlottetown. Our season begins in September with a Fall Program. Our Winter Season runs from October through March. We have a full spectrum of programs including Canskate, PowerSkate, Starskate (Jumpstart, Juniors, Intermediates, Seniors), Adults (both learn to skate & figureskating), Sledge Canskate, Special Olympics training & Synchronized Skating. Competitive Skating is encouraged and works within the framework of our Starskate Programs.
Coaches from sister clubs on the island looking to coach for the Fall Season only or casual work throughout the season are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate(s) will meet the following requirements:
- Registered Professional Coach in good standing (with Skate Canada)
- Meets National Coaching Certification requirements with a minimum Canskate Trained Status (in Training may be considered)
- Be willing to coach Canskate Group Lessons
- Have some computer knowledge
- Willingness to work with other coaches, parents, volunteers and executive
- Good communication skills and pays attention to detail
- Be interested in continuing education in coaching
